Acknowledgement : The purpose of an acknowledgement is for the signer, whose identity has been verified, to declare to a Notarial Officer that he, she or they has/have willing signed a document.

Verification on Oath or Affidavit (aka jurat) : A verification on oath or affirmation is a declaration, made by an individual on oath or affirmation before a Notarial Officer, that a statement in a record is true.

Witnessing a Signature : A signature witnessing is used when it is important to establish that a document was signed on an exact date.

Certifying a Copy of Record or Deposition : A Notarial Officer who certifies or attests a copy of a record or an item which was copied shall determine that the copy is a complete and accurate transcription or reproduction of the record or item.
